Code of Conduct – Snowtrax Race Squad

For every Athlete, Parent/Carer, Coach and Volunteer.

The Snowtrax Race Squads code of conduct is an essential document for the club as it outlines the expectations and standards for behaviour from all members, parents, and volunteers. It serves as a guide for ensuring a safe and positive environment for everyone involved with the club, and it helps to maintain the integrity and reputation of the organisation. With the below code of conduct, everyone is on the same page and the club can maintain a high level of professionalism and safety.

Athletes

Respect everyone, on and off the slope; coaches, other athletes, parents and officials
Listen to your coaches. They are there to help and improve your skiing
Bullying of any kind will not be tolerated. Treat everyone as you would like to be treated yourself, with respect and kindness
When on the slope, give your full attention to the coaches and give 100% effort to every session
Show good sportsmanship in everything you do, whether you’re winning or not
No mobile devices to be used when on the slope whether training or racing
No inappropriate language to be used
No prohibited or recreational drugs will be tolerated and this includes alcohol
Should you have any concerns regarding the club or members, please contact the Club Welfare Officer
We race as one so support your fellow athletes with kindness and consideration

Parents and Carers

Be present when your child is at training or racing
Endeavor to help where/when asked. We are a volunteer led club so we need your help from time to time
Aim to be punctual
Be a parent; let the coaches coach and be there to encourage your child; they’re there for training and importantly to have fun!
No inappropriate language to be used
Recognise attitude and performance; not results
Know your child is safe; please report any concerns regarding the club or members please contact the Club Welfare Officer
Encourage your child and all other Race Squad members.

Coaches

Promote the welfare and best interest of the athletes
Assist in a safe and enjoyable environment to ski in
Empower athletes to be responsible for their own decisions
Be positive role models for the athletes
Not to use or tolerate inappropriate language
Report any concerns; of an athlete or parent of an athlete, to the Club Welfare Officer

Volunteers and Officials

Treat everyone equally and not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, ability or disability
Display high standards of behaviour
Consider the well-being and safety of participants before the development of performance
Under the guidance of the coaches ensure all activities are appropriate to the age, ability and experience of those taking part
Promote the positive aspects of snowsport (e.g. fair play and support for others)
Display consistently high standards of behaviour and appearance
Never condone rule violations, bad sportsmanship or the use of prohibited substances
Encourage participants to accept responsibility for their own performance and behaviour
